About Me
I have been interested in family history since I was a child. When I was eleven, I conducted my first interview with my grandfather; the notes I took then are my only link to his "brick-wall" family. As a high school student I started making research trips to county courthouses and have been at it ever since. I joined the National Genealogical Society in 1992 and the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society in 1994. I started volunteering at the NYG&B a few years ago and recently joined their Board of Trustees. I blog about family stories and research tools for genealogy at www.voicesfromadistantpast.blogspot.com.
